We are so sorry for your loss. I found this notice, and one for Barb in a moment of nostalgia. Sam and Barb were our "trailer park" neighbors in Sheboygan, WI. Sam was stationed there with the Coast Guard, and Barb worked at a Sheboygan hospital. We were all about the same age (I will be 76 in a few weeks) and spent so much time together.

When Sam left the Coast Guard, and worked in Chicago, we visited them several times. Then time and space intervened. They were busy raising their girls; we were busy with our four kids.

I learned this morning of the passing of a mutual friend - a nurse that Barb knew, and also a "trailer park" neighbor and my first thought was, I have to tell Barb and Sam.

To Sam's Family,
I cared for Sam at the VLCC. In the short time I knew him, I could tell he was a very special man with a big heart. He was so very proud of his 3 daughters and couldn't say enough about his son in law whom he loved to go fishing with. His biggest hope was that he would get to go fishing with him one last time. He spoke of his love for his wife and how much he missed her. There is peace knowing they are now together again. Each time I saw Sam he would share his love of his daughters and tear up telling me about them. The last time I saw him at the clinic, he was being wheeled out and he was thanking us for our care and he said "you are all angels." He is now your angel. My deepest sympathy. Calli

Dear Mary Jo, Bonnie and Cris, We were all blessed with SAM in our lifes. How lucky for us. He showed us what love and caring was all about. His love for boating and the peace he shared when he was on the water or at his home will never be forgotten. May your memories always give you peace and "HAPPY FEET

Chris and family,
My sympathy in the passing of your father. The video is a beautiful tribute to him, and your mom. Their legacy lives on.
