I feel blessed growing up with many fond, warm, and loving memories in a large family of relatives that shared their lives so closely. At holidays it was very special with sometimes over twenty cousins playing together at the Schmidt household. Not many people can share such memories and appreciate them even more growing through life. Karen was one of the older, and I might say, favorite cousins. She was the calm, thoughtful, caring, faithful, empathetic, and quiet leaders with others. She was true to her character then and into adult life. Having had her in my life has made me a better person and she will be remembered and missed. It is with gratitude that she be remembed. My deepest sympathy and condolence to Gertrude, Kathleen, Heidi, Joel and Josh.

Dear sister - you are still my mentor and friend. Your departure has left a hole in my heart and life. Many thanks to the expertise of her children (Heidi, Joel and Josh) for the excellent care and preparation for these last months. You captured her soul so well in the obituary, Heidi. Thanks to the Hospice staff who directed the final care for my sister and preparation for us as she reached her final days.

Heidi, Joel, and Josh - I enjoyed working with your mom for about 10 years at Dr. Schrank's office. She was a very talented lady that will be missed by so many people. I am so sorry for your loss.
