I am truly sorry to hear of the passing of both Emery and Betty. I am also sorry this is written so late after his passing. My family, the Crawford's, vacationed at their cottages almost every year while I was growing up. I have such fond memories of staying in Bruester and Kwizy (sorry if that is not spelled correctly). Later when the 3rd cabin was built, we stayed there a couple of years too. Emery and Betty were very nice people who cared about others. They were friends of my mom and dad who kept in contact for many years after my brother and I grew up and trips to Sturgeon Bay stopped. Both my parents are gone now too and I'm sure they are sitting outside a cottage on a beach in front of a bay telling stories. My sincere heartfelt condolences for the Krueger family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Chris, my thoughts are with you. What a wonderful life you had with your Dad.
The video is just beautiful. Em was one of my classmates, at NWTC computer
classes, a few years ago. It was a small group, and we got to know each other.
Em was a great story teller. Dennis's classes were so much fun. I was glad
to get to know him, as he was so busy, when were spent time together. It was
great to to see photo's of Bay Shore property. He had a great life, and he sure
enjoyed time with you and your family. Be good to yourself. Gayle

We were not a family with a large number of "aunt's and uncles." Hence, despite our distance our connections were valued. Uncle Emery and Aunt Betty were truly our "aunt and uncle" and their connection with our parents always prompted stories that brought smiles to our faces. The efforts of Christine and Emery to visit our mother in her period of aging and decline are much appreciated and not forgotten and evidenced their loyalty to family. It appears we will have weather challenges getting to the funeral but I want to underscore how much we appreciate having had Emery in our lives and value his service to our country and contributions to the greater Sturgeon Bay area. We hope the funeral provides many opportunities for great story telling. What a great man!! He is missed.

Emery was my uncle, and he was one of the finest gentlemen I have ever know. I recall the great Sunday afternoon lunches we had with him and his family at my grandmother's house in Green Bay. Emery loved to laugh: when he and my Dad got together in Green Bay, they "danced" in the living room, told stories, and enjoyed each other's company. Their potato pancake eating contests are legendary. Emery always took an interest in my life, as well as the lives of my sister and brother. I also recall being amazed at how hard Emery worked at the Beer Mart and the sporting goods store. He put in long hours. He was very proud of his Little League involvement. My wife and I had a wonderful lunch with Emery and Betty in a restaurant overlooking the Capitol in Madison. We took a long walk afterwards and sat on a bench for several hours talking about life and love. Emery had an excellent relationship with his sister Elaine, who was my mother. He drove from Sturgeon Bay to Baraboo on a number of occasions to visit her, and she was always inspired by his visits to "keep up the good fight." During the last decade or so of his life, Emery was able to talk more about his World War II experiences, and I was fascinated by everything he had to say. I will never forget Emery. May he Rest in Peace.

Emery was a gifted man. Artistic and Classy is how I will remember him. I was always amazed at his carving talents, but equally impressed by his constant involvement in our community and his church. He was a familiar face every year at the church's Lumberjack Supper. We will miss him around town.
