My deepest condolences to the Harmann family on Darlene's passing. I was so very blessed to have her as my American History teacher. I loved every minute in her class because of the way she made history come alive (including dressing the part). Her legacy lives on in everyone she taught or came into contact with. Thank you Mrs Harmann.

A friend, a teacher, a mother--all describe "Mrs. Harmann" to me. I have no idea what had been said about me in the teacher's lounge, but I walked into her classroom the first day of my junior year to have her say, "You are Liz Matzke!" She never did tell me what that meant, but she was always there with her smile to encourage. After h.s., she continued to ask about my "Betsy" corp that she kidded me about, again with that smile.
As I was one of her earlier students (1970) we ended up having babies at the same time. I remember the small pink rose that she brought me on July 3 as I waited patiently for my daughter to be born as she left with Kevin in her arms. That little rose meant so much to me.
God's blessings to you all and may He be the one to hold you in His arms as you say "good-bye" to this lovely lady.

While Mrs Harmann was an awesome history teacher, she influenced my life more than she ever knew. The summer after my freshman year of college, I was working at a restaurant in Sturgeon Bay. Mrs. Harmann was my customer one day. A casual conversation we had helped guide me towards figuring out my career path. I've been working as a registered nurse for the past 26 years, and I'm very happy with the decision I made. When people ask what made me decide to go into nursing, I always give Mrs. Harmann credit.
My condolences to Darlene Harmann's family.

I'm so sorry to hear about Dar's passing. She had such a huge impact on so many people. She was by far one of the greatest teachers I have ever had. I don't know that I would love history as much as I do if it weren't for her. God bless to you all as you navigate the days ahead.

Please except my deepest sympathy in the passing of your Mother. I had the pleasure
of having her as my teacher in high school and loved her. I had seen her many times in passing in Sturgeon Bay and always enjoyed talking with her. May your memories of her

Mrs. Harmony is one of my all-time favorite teachers and people. Her brilliance in the classroom involved not only commanding respect and focus, but also bringing content to life and making learning fun – two priorities I work hard to emulate in my own classroom every day. My heart goes out to your family during these difficult times. Please know the long-reaching affect that Mrs. Harmann has had on my life. Thank you for sharing her. Sincerely, Jeanette (Mueller) Ruthven, SDHS grad 1989.

Hi Stacy and family, sending my condolences. When I was 16, I poured Dar some lemon water at the Blue Iris. I recall you telling me you used to say 'enjoy your water' when you worked at Bay Shore. I have a fun photo of us in front of my mom's garden and a few watching Bway on TV on your mom's bedroom TV. Sending love virtually and wish I could hug you. Love, Tony

So very sorry to hear of Dar's passing. I not only remember her as a fantastic teacher, I will also remember the great meals her and Aunt Dell managed to put together, and the many parties at her lovely home on Bay Shore Drive. She was a wonderful friend, and will be missed.
