     Bessie L. Rose (ROSE) passed away suddenly at her home in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin on February 6, 2017. She was born February 16, 1936 in Lincoln Township of Monroe County, Wisconsin to Leland and Gertrude (Paddock) Rose. Rose raised her children in Racine, Wisconsin and attended Calvary Memorial Church for many years. She enjoyed hosting Tupperware, Avon, Sarah Coventry and Princess House Crystal parties in her home.

     After the passing of her long-time friend and companion, Ed Duratny in 1993, Rose moved to Door County, Wisconsin. Rose was proud of her Irish heritage and loved all things Irish. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading and feeding the many song birds that visited her yard. Rose corresponded regularly with family and friends, sending cards, letters and small gifts.

     Rose is survived by her sister Lucille, brother Daniel; children Shirley, Thomas, Karen and Scott; grandchildren Jeffrey Ryan, Erin, Garret, Lisa, Robby, Christy and Douglas; great grandchildren Jeffrey James, Jacob, Katrionna, Kody, LeAnn, Jerome and Alectra.

     Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Alvin, Benjamin and Victor, and her beloved companion Ed Duratny.

     A Tea Party to include coffee and Kringle will be served in Rose's Memory at 2 P.M. Saturday, April 15, 2017 accompanied by the Celtic Music and Hymns she favored, at Warrens Baptist Church, 101 Church Street, Warrens, Wisconsin.
