Violet Marie May

     Violet Marie May, 95, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, April 22, 2016.

     She was born December 9, 1920 to Oswald Harold and Lillian (LeMieux) Swanson in Calderwood, MI but grew up in Sagola, MI and was a graduate of Channing High School.  

     The beloved mother of Penny (Roger) Schinktgen of Sturgeon Bay, Jim (Paula) May of Eatonton, GA, Tom May of Eagle; a caring grandmother to four; great-grandmother to 10; and “Auntie Vi” to many. Her vivacious spirit touched all who knew her.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her two sisters, Harriette Hanson Bruette and Edith Hunsader and their spouses.    

     A celebration of Violet’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay with Pastor James Gomez officiating. A meal will follow at church and include personal eulogy's, ending with a memorial balloon release. Private services for entombment will be held at Bayside Cemetery.
