Wilda Koepp Obituary

Wilda Lucy Koepp, 99, of Sturgeon Bay, fell asleep in the loving arms of her family and awoke in the arms of the Lord, late Wednesday night, April 30, 2025 at Sturgeon Bay Health Services. 

She was born January 18, 1926 in Denver, CO, the daughter of Marcos C. Acosta and Ida (King) Acosta. Wilda graduated from West High School in Denver.

She worked in the office/administration for the government at the Naval Station on Treasure Island off San Francisco Bay in California. 

Wilda met Donald Walter Koepp in Oakland, CA and they were united in marriage on July 10, 1948.

Wilda and Don eventually moved to Wisconsin and resided in Whitefish Bay in the Town of Sevastopol. Wilda worked for Milwaukee Shoe Co. in Sturgeon Bay before going to work for the Department of Social Services until her retirement.

She was a longtime parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Institute. Wilda enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, completing word searches and cross words, and was also an avid reader. She liked knitting and crocheting afghans, doilies, sweaters, and curtains, as well as Christmas ornaments.

Wilda and Don were blessed with over 48 years of marriage. He preceded Wilda in death on January 8, 1997.

Wilda will be missed by her daughters, Donna Koepp of Oconto Falls, Ann (Floyd) Hewitt of Socorro, NM, and Janett (Dennis) Mills of Clovis, NM; son-in-law, Kenneth Suess, Sr. of Brussels, WI; grandchildren, Kenneth (fiancée, Lysha Burczyk) Suess, Jr., Cregg (Kelly Deerr) Suess, and Kellie Schwab and Ryan (Beth) Hewitt and Clark Hewitt; great-grandchildren, Tyler (Megan) Fox, Seth Suess, and Blain Suess, Zachary (Kassie) McKeefry, Austin Suess, and Michaela Suess, Dylan Schwab, and Damon Hewitt and Devon Hewitt; great-great-grandchildren, Peyton Fox and Paxton Fox and Presley McKeefry and Baby McKeefry; her sister, Josephine Fimbres of Clayton, CA; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Carolyn Suess; sister, Mary (Daryle) Boheman; siblings-in-law, William (Marilyn "Marnie") Koepp, Marilyn (Nicholas) Hoffman, and Rubin Fimbres; and other relatives.

Wilda's life will be honored with a Mass of Christian Burial prayed at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Institute with Fr. Matthew Rappl as celebrant. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the church on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
