Wade E. Weckler

     Wade E. Weckler, 53 of the Town of Nasewaupee, Sturgeon Bay, passed away suddenly while at Door County Medical Center on Saturday morning January 15, 2022.

He was born April 6, 1968, in Sturgeon Bay the son of Orville and Laurel (Wessel) Weckler. Wade graduated from Southern Door High School in 1986 before attending Auto Body Mechanic School at NWTC. He worked in and around the auto industry all his life. Wade owned and operated Weckz Transport for many years. For the past six years he has worked for Auto Zone in Sturgeon Bay. Wade loved to race stock cars with his father and with Denil Racing and was well known on the track as “Wade the Weapon”.

     On April 9, 2010, he married Heidi Lynn Vannieuwenhoven in Sturgeon Bay. Surviving family includes his wife, Heidi; two daughters, Hayleigh Vannieuwenhoven, Emmahlynn Weckler; his mother, Laurel Wessel of Sturgeon Bay; sister, Tammy (Renee McWhirter) Sternard of Forestville; nieces and nephews, Brady, Shaun, Abi Tooley; and his godson, Tyler Wallace.

     Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
