Verna Mae Anderson, 96, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on December 29, 2025, at Brookview Meadows Senior Living in Green Bay.
She was born May 17, 1929, in Sister Bay, WI, the daughter of Melvin and Mabel (Grasse) Kramer. Verna attended Sister Bay Grade School and Gibraltar High School.
She married Donald Anderson on November 19, 1946. He preceded her in death on August 25, 1975. She married William "Bill" Weber on June 6, 1981. He preceded her in death in 1985.
Verna worked for her parents' resort, Norrland Resort in Ellison Bay. Over the years she worked at Carol's Corral, Patio Drive-In, and Fawn Restaurant.
She was a lifelong member of VFW Auxiliary in Duck Creek and the VFW Auxiliary Post 3088. Verna enjoyed music across many genres, country was her favorite. She sang in the church choir, played piano, violin and accordion. Verna baked delicious pies and other sweet treats that she lovingly shared with family and friends. She volunteered and attended the Sturgeon Bay Senior Center playing games and making crafts in community with others. She spent her time reading and writing poetry and enjoyed gathering and sharing the family genealogy.
Verna will be missed by son, Neil (Barb) Anderson of Brookfield; daughter, Pamela (Charles) Stratton of Green Bay; granddaughters, Angela (Mark) Westfall; Colleen (Mike Weber and his children Michelle, Julia, and Robert) Anderson; and Michelle (Jerod) Hoffman; grandsons, Joe Schuett (Emily Brunner and her children Peyton and Alexandra), and Adam Schuett; great-grandchildren, Taylor Hoffman, Mackenzie (Cody) Smith, Brooklyn Hoffman, Charlie Hoffman, Jordan Westfall, Alyssa Mallmann, Jennalyn Mallmann, Natalie Schuett, William Schuett, and Michael Schuett; family friend, Jean Bahling.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; brother, Willard (Clessie) Kramer; sister, Virginia (Russell) Hanson; nephews, Randy Kramer, and Bruce Hanson.
Verna's life will be honored with a funeral service held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Bay View Lutheran Church, 340 W Maple St, Sturgeon Bay, with Pastor Peter Mannoja officiating. She will be laid to rest in Little Sister Cemetery in the Town of Liberty Grove.
Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
