The world has dimmed for all who knew and loved Susan M Fischer, who passed away peacefully at her home in Jacksonport on Friday, June 14, 2024. Susan was born February 19, 1961, in Eau Claire, WI to Richard Allan(d) and Janet Marie Rindal(d) and moved to Door County in the early 1990s.
She enjoyed a long nursing career working with Scandia Village Good Samaritan and then Hearthside Cordial Care in Sister Bay. Susan was a consummate student and continued her nursing education until being forced by health issues to retire.
Susan was a gifted musician and artist with great natural ability and creative spirit. To hear her sing was like listening to the angels, and her paintings and poetry were expressions of her true beauty and love for life. She was a sweet and gentle friend who loved freely and unconditionally, but she was mostly defined by her love of family. She was a deeply comforting homemaker and a fiercely devoted mother and grandmother.
Susan will be greatly missed by her children and family, life partner Mark Raddatz, brother Allan (Marty) Rindal, sons Aaron Fischer, Joshua Fischer, Matthew Fischer/Kae J Maeboonruan, Seth Raddatz/Mary Mattson, daughter Angela Fischer/Corey Ramsay, step-son Austin Raddatz, and grandchildren Shaelee, Vera, and Willow.
Her family, both born and chosen, was vast, and countless children of all ages found home and hope in her unconditional love and welcoming arms, and are proud to have called her "mom."
To know her was to love her. To be loved by her was one of life’s greatest gifts.
The family will host a Celebration of Life for Susan on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall, 2392 County Road F, Baileys Harbor.
