Roger Scrattish Obituary

     Roger Scrattish, 67, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Saturday morning, November 5, 2022 at Sturgeon Bay Health Services.

     He was born January 2, 1955 in Akron, OH, the son of Frank and Gilda “Gigi” Maxine (Kelley) Scrattish, Sr. Roger attended Garland High School in Plano, TX. Roger enlisted to serve his country with the United States Army, entering into active service on February 17, 1977. He was honorably discharged from the Army on March 28, 1980.

     Roger initially drove truck in Washington state. He came to Door County, WI in 2002 and eventually met Debra Ann Kuss on painting project they were working together. They established Door County Painting that year and provided residential and new-construction painting throughout the county. Together, Roger and Deb enjoyed over years of friendship and companionship.

     He enjoyed outdoors – fishing and hunting and riding his motorcycle. Roger was “master” on the grill and was known for his ribs, prime rib, and chicken. He was also a good baker; his cakes and cupcakes were some of his most notable treats.

     When Roger’s health began to decline, he was cared for at Kewaunee Health Services and most recently at Sturgeon Bay Health Services.

     He will be missed by his partner in life and work, Debra of Sturgeon Bay; and is survived by three daughters, Kimberly Sells, Mackinzi Scrattish, and Rogeena Scrattish; grandchildren; Frank (Shirley) Scrattish, Jr. of Winsten-Salem, NC; William (Donna) Scrattish of Germanton, NC, and Lisa (Ed) Lance of Shawano; favorite cousin Todd “Cuz” (Joan) Duffley of Canton, OH; and other relatives.

     Roger was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Steven and Gene Scrattish; and other relatives.

     No services are scheduled to be held at this time.

     A special thanks goes out to the staffs of Door County Medical Center, Unity Hospice, Sturgeon Bay Health Services, and Kewaunee Health Services for the excellent care given to Roger.
