Robert John Skippon Sr.

     Robert John Skippon Sr., 91, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at his home.

     He was born July 6, 1933 in Sturgeon Bay, son of the late Samuel and Elizabeth Ann (DeGodt) Skippon. Bob graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School. He enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge. He worked at Palmer Johnson Yachts for 30 years as a painter and varnisher. On May 21, 1956, Bob and Mary Lou Leslie were united in marriage. They spent 21 years together until she preceded him in death on June 4, 1977. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

     Bob will be missed by his children, Daniel Scipponi, Michael (Kandie) Skippon, Mary (Ron) Frando, Elizabeth Skippon, Lori Skippon, and Robert (Casey) Skippon Jr.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Margaret DeMeuse; and siblings, Virginia (Curtis) Sorenson, Marion (Raymond) Hartl, Kathleen (Bob) Geise, Kenneth Skippon, Rolland Scipponi, and Elizabeth Skippon.

     Bob’s life will be honored with a funeral service on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Huehns Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. Military honors will be immediately after the service. He will be laid to rest in Bayside Cemetery.

     Visitation for friends and family will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
