Robert Leon Moore, 73 years, of Sturgeon Bay, died at home Thursday morning (November 20, 2008).

He was born July 31, 1935 at home in the township of Sevastopol, the son of Arthur and Audrey (Bliss) Moore. He attended Sevastopol Schools. On April 25, 1974 he married Karen Marie Theis in Sturgeon Bay.

Bob worked for many orchards in the area, the Institute Feed Mill, and Bay Ship. He also farmed and sold cattle. He owned, raised, trained and raced sulky horses.

He enjoyed farming, horses, racing, cattle, green bay packer football, hunting deer, fox, and raccoons. In more recent years, he liked watching the cars and people as they went by the house. And made sure he waved hello to everyone. He was a very kind, loveable husband, dear father, grandfather, and friend.

Survivors include his loving wife, Karen of 34 years; son, Wayne (Marcy) of Sturgeon Bay, (and son, Bryant); two sisters, Beverly (Robert) Mueller, Illinois, Eileen Keup of Manitowoc; two brothers, Raymond Moore of Sturgeon Bay, Donald (Pat) Moore of Algoma; his uncle and aunts, Roger and Betty Bliss of Sheboygan, and Genevieve Moore of Sturgeon Bay; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Thanks to his special friends, Clarence Geitner and Howard Serrohn that came to visit him. Special thanks to his brother Ray for taking Bob for rides. He enjoyed the rides and could hardly wait for the trip. Thanks to the wonderful neighbors who all pitched in when we needed them. We also want to thank the other people who would wave to him when he sat in his chair under the tree whether they knew him or not.

Preceding him in death were his parents, pre-mature infant daughter, Wendy Ann; brother-in-law, Robert Keup; grandparents, Wesley and Anna Moore, and Everette and Eleanor Bliss.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Huehns Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bayside Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening at Huehns Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. until the time of services at 2:00 p.m. at Huehns Funeral Home.

Special thanks to the nurses and doctors, especially Dr. R. Bradley Nelson, for their compassionate care.
