Richard E. Jeanquart St., 52, 739 County Hwy C, Brussels, died early Sunday morning, November 9, 1997, at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay.
Richard was born July 18, 1945, in Door County, the son of the late Raymond J. and Marie V. (Theys) Jeanquart. He attended Brussels school. He was employed by Badger Northland, also with Silo Construction, was a self-employed farmer, and construction worker. He married Agatha A Petry Nov. 23, 1963, at St. Odile's Catholic Church, Thiry Dames. He was a member of St. Francis and St. Mary Parish.
Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing was active in tractor pulling contests and loved to travel. He also enjoyed pig roast BBQ’s and taking his family for ice-cream in Kewaunee.
Survivors include his wife, Agatha, Brussels; one son, Richard Jr., and friend, Laura Van Drisse, Brussels; two daughters, Theresa Fuller and fiancée, Steve Selvick, Sturgeon Bay and Kathleen (Chuck) Massart, Forestville; three grandchildren, Marie Massart, C.J. Massart IV, Elizabeth Jeanquart; one sister, Maryann (David) Conard, Forestville; one brother, Andrew Jeanquart, Luxemburg; godmother, Laura Theys; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Sandy Smeester Jeanquart; brother-in-law, Robert Braun; stepson, Alan Merkes, and good friend, Jim Hansen.
A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, November 12, 1997 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis and St. Mary Parish, Namur, with the Rev. Pius Cotter officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary of the Snow Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Union. Friends may call at Davis Mortuary Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the church friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. A parish wake service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Davis Mortuary.
Pallbearers were Jim Wery, Ephrim Arrostia, Alan Merkes Sr., Robert Jeanquart, Randy Conard, Sonny Malvitz, Darrell Farley, and Scott Wreckler.
