Raoul E. Plutchak, 84, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 29, 2023.
He was born in 1939 in Green Bay, son of the late Durward A. Plutchak and Elva H. Plutchak. Raoul graduated from Carney-Nadeau High School before attending Michigan Technological University, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He moved to Massachusetts and attended Northeastern University and graduated with his master’s degree in electrical engineering. Raoul and Beth Bancroft were united in marriage in 1966 at a Baptist church in Massachusetts. He worked for Raytheon Corporation his entire career. After retirement, they moved to Door County. They were members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Raoul enjoyed gardening and model railroading.
Raoul will be missed by his wife, Beth; children, Eric (Shannah) Plutchak and Wendy (Nathan) Kraemer; grandchildren, Spencer, Alex, and Carson Plutchak and Spencer, Callie, and Kaitlyn Kraemer; and brother-in-law, J. Whitney (Nancy) Bancroft.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service to honor Raoul’s life will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest in the family plot at Maple Grove Cemetery in Daggett, Michigan.
Visitation for friends and family will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
