Paul J. Peterson, 70 years of Egg Harbor passed away suddenly at home on Friday morning October 13, 2023.
He was born April 3, 1953 in Algoma, the son of the late Richard and Myrtle (Duerst) Peterson. Paul graduated from Algoma High School in 1973 before attending Fox Valley Tech in Appleton. He started working at the Algoma Wastewater Treatment Plant before Sturgeon Bay Utilities where he worked for a number of years. In 2018, Paul retired from the Egg Harbor Waste Water Treatment plant after 30 years of employment.
On December 18, 1982 he married Pauline Beth Peterson in Sturtevant, WI.
Paul served his community as a volunteer fire fighter with the Algoma Fire Department and the Egg Harbor Fire Department. He served as a Town of Egg Harbor Supervisor and currently as Town Chairman since 2007.
He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Egg Harbor. Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing, and especially enjoyed fishing with his grandson. He loved to watch his granddaughter, Lizzie preforming in various plays and competing at her sporting events.
Surviving family members include his dear wife, Pauline; sons, Peter of Egg Harbor, Jeremy (Taylor) Dart of Green Bay and their daughter, Lizzie; daughter, Penni (Paul) Lewis of Las Vegas and their son, Apollo; sisters, Linda (David) Hoffmann of Luxemburg, Kris (Howard) Richardson of Algoma; nieces and nephews; his best friend, Fred Entringer and his turd herder friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Richard and Myrtle Peterson; brother, Terry; two infant sisters; and in-laws, George and Bessie Peterson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Services to honor Paul’s memory will be held at 1:30 p.m., November 4, 2023 at Calvary United Methodist Church in Egg Harbor. Friends and family may call at the church from noon until the time of service at 1:30 p.m.
Memorials can be given in his memory to Calvary United Methodist Church – Defibrillator fund.
