Pamela Marsh Obituary

Pamela Anne Marsh, 78, lifelong resident of Sturgeon Bay, died Sunday afternoon, December 1, 2024 at Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay

She was born April 23, 1946, in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of Ellis G. and Esther E. (May) Holmes. Pam grew up attending St. Joseph Parish and Grade School where she received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation. She graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School with the class of 1964.

Pam was united in marriage to David Donald Marsh on October 16, 1965 at St. Joseph Catholic Church where she remained a lifelong member.

She worked as a tour guide for Moore Fun Tours of Green Bay, with her sister, Barbara Moore.

Pam had a great love for her Catholic faith and poured her heart into the Religious Education program at St. Joseph Parish, serving as Religious Education Coordinator for over 10 years.

She belonged to the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Pere Marquette #1058 in Sturgeon Bay as well as the Christian Mothers at church. Pam also lectured and served as a Eucharistic Minister at church. Her faith provided a foundation throughout her life and she prayed the Rosary regularly. With her daughter, Sheila, Pam was also active in Girl Scouts. She always enjoyed getting together with her breakfast group.

Pam was grateful for all of God's creation around her and especially liked tending to her flowers in her garden.

She and David shared over 43 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on May 23, 2009.

Pam was blessed to have the friendship and companionship of Thomas Knab of Sturgeon Bay the past 10 years.

She will be missed by her children, Sheila (Paul) Stoneman of the Town of Sevastopol, Steve (Jill) Marsh of Luxemburg, grandchildren, Julia, Megan (fiancé, Ryan Malec), and Margaret Stoneman and Max and Levi Marsh (fiancé Taylor Nelson); siblings, Nancy (Richard) DeCono of Watertown, WI, Phillip Holmes of Whittier, CA, Paula (Daniel) Homuth of Fond Du Lac; siblings-in-law, Janice (Gary) Haen, Jim (Gwen) Marsh, and Chuck (Jean) Marsh of Sturgeon Bay; special friend, Thomas Knab; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents; husband; in-laws, John and Ella Marsh; sisters and brother in-laws, Barbara (Robert) Moore, Mary (Daniel) Grace; sister-in-law, Barb Holmes; and other relatives.

Her life will be honored with a Mass of Christian Burial prayed at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 110 N. 5th Avenue Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 with Fr. Matthew Rappl; Fr. Douglas Leonhardt, SJ (Pam's cousin); and Fr. Anthony Birdsall concelebrating.

Pam will be laid to rest beside her husband, David, in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum in the Town of Sevastopol.

The Rosary will be prayed at church, Friday morning, at 9:00 a.m. with Visitation beginning at 9:15 a.m. and continuing until 10:40 a.m.

Memorials may be given in Pam's name for the St. Joseph Educational Endowment Trust (mail to church office: 526 Louisiana Street, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235) to support the (Catholic) religious education that (Pam) devoted herself to and cared so deeply about.

"Our family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Paul Hudson and the staff of Bellin Health Cardiology Associates, Dr. Maria Chona S. Antonio of Door County Medical Center; and the Unity Palliative Care team for the wonderful care given to our mother. Thank you also to Mary Chaudoir for being such a great friend to Mom, being there for her and checking in on her."
