Nancy Jane Thomas, 77, of Sturgeon Bay, WI, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025.
She was born April 22, 1948 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of John Jacob Thomas and Lillian Florence (Dunn) Thomas. Nancy graduated from Tinley Park High School in Tinley Park, IL (Class of 1966). She went on to study accounting at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, IL.
Nancy made her home in Phoenix, AZ, where she devoted herself to a career as a bookkeeper for a medical supply company until 2015. She later retired to Sturgeon Bay, WI, a place she came to know and love from spending time at Robertson’s Cottages. Nancy was an avid reader of various genres and liked dancing. Nancy appreciated a good beer to go along with pork, sauerkraut, and dumplings. Nancy's outfits were often highlighted by a pair of crazy socks. She loved her locally adopted dogs (Pepper and Fluffy) and their furry friends (and owners) at local dog parks. Nancy's favorite holiday was Thanksgiving enjoying that time spent with family.
She will be missed by her siblings, Shirley Boersma and James (Sandra) Thomas; nieces and nephews, Rachel (Scott Stacey) Thomas, Jacob (Melissa Plyer) Thomas, Sarah (Andy Parent) Thomas, Elizabeth Boersma, Brian (Janne) Boersma, Brenda (Matthew Maland) Boersma, and Bradley (Christi) Boersma; great-nieces and great-nephews; and other relatives.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gerald "Jerry" Thomas and brother-in-law, Bruce Boersma.
Her life will be honored privately by family.
