Miriam "Patti" Irene (Whipple) Bennett

     Miriam “Patti” Irene Bennett, 93, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the Door County Medical Center.

     She was born May 30, 1928 in Hamilton, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank and Norma (Boehner) Whipple. After graduating from Hamilton High School, she attended beauty school and worked as a beautician until the marriage to Jack William Bennett on January 14, 1949, when the two began their family. Patti and Jack enjoyed traveling and even owned their own small plane, flying to Door County from their Menominee, Michigan home often. In retirement, they moved to Door County permanently. She loved Siamese cats, her evening whiskey and Coke cocktail, and her family.

     She is survived by her children, Lee (Deanna) Bennett of Sitka, Alaska, Paul (Sarah) Bennett of Sheboygan Falls, and Kay (Larry) Hembel of Sturgeon Bay; grandchildren, Amie Bennett Mull, Tony (Tracy) Bennett, Amanda (Andy) Denson, Blake (Holly) Bennett, Ryan Mueller, and Jake Mueller; 11 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and two nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Norma Whipple; husband, Jack Bennett; daughter, Jan Torres; and sister, Dickie (Kenny) Standfer.

     In honor of Patti’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held on Tuesday August 10th, 2021.
