Mary Ramstack Obituary

Mary Ellen Ramstack 79, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Pine Crest Village after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born December 7, 1946 in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late William Tyler and Florence (Johnson) Gray. Mary Ellen graduated from Wauwatosa High School in 1965 before receiving her BS degree from UW Whitewater in English/Spanish. For a number of years, she was a High School Spanish teacher in West Allis before moving to Sturgeon Bay. On November 22, 1984, she married Richard (Dick) Ramstack on their favorite tropical island of Haiti. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1996. She and Dick worked and played together for many years, loving life and living large. Mary Ellen was a proud and active member of the Door County Republican Party where she served as both a state and national delegate and membership chairperson. She was also a member of the Door County Women's Club, the Windemere Town Homes Association, and Friends of Door County Libraries.

Mary Ellen was dearly loved by her nieces and nephews and many good friends. She will be remembered for her love and kindness, her sense of humor, and her unwavering passion for the Packers. "Go Pack Go!" Always. She will be greatly missed but always cherished and remembered. Preceding her in death were her parents; her stepdad, Frank Biagi, Jr. (Bumpa); her husband, Dick; her two brothers, William Tyler Gray Jr. and Robert Maynard Gray; and her beloved niece, Stacey.

Mary Ellen's cremains will be laid to rest next to her parents, brothers and niece at a later date at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield, WI.
