Margaret Mary Quinlan Obituary

Margaret Mary "Peggy" Quinlan passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the family home in Whitefish Bay, Door County, Wisconsin, surrounded by the love and presence of her family.

Peg was born in 1946 and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, as the second child of Albert and Mickey Quinlan. She arrived after her sister, Pat, and before her brother, Albert, who died in June 2025. Soon after, she was joined by eight more siblings-Mike, Bill, John, Tom, MaryGrace, Anna, Kate, and Maria. Growing up in such a large family, Peg quickly learned the art of sharing-something she carried with her throughout her life. The Quinlan household shaped her spirit, generosity, sharp wit, and deep devotion to those she loved. Her adventurous spirit and love of culture took her to Italy, where she lived for a time, before she made her home in Chicago. It was in her beloved Chicago that she built a full life, rich in friendships, family connections, and her passion for real estate.

Peg's life was one of quiet strength, quick humor, and unwavering love for her family and the places she held dear. Door County, especially the family home and the beloved farmhouse she shared with her sister Anna, was always a source of joy and comfort. It was there, in the place she cherished most, that she spent her final days.

She leaves behind her siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom will remember her resilience, her humor, her quick wit, and her love for all that is beautiful.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Unity Hospice for making it possible to care for Peggy in the family home, and especially to her sister Maria, who lovingly cared for her until the end. Her family remains deeply grateful.

The family will honor Peggy with a private service.
