Lucille Seely Obituary

Lucille “Lou” Reimer Seely, 101, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Pine Crest Village Assisted Living.

She was born May 20, 1924 in Hinsdale, Illinois, daughter of the late Herman and Florence Lena Marie (Sallwasser) Reimer. Lou graduated from high school in Downers Grove, Illinois in 1941. While in college, she worked as a camp counselor and swim instructor. Lou worked as a stewardess for United Airlines. On August 9, 1947, she and Chesley “Kent” Seely were married in Salt Lake City, Utah. Lou then became a military wife and mom, taking care of the home and supporting the family during many moves. After military retirement they moved to Champaign, Illinois for a few years. They then moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana and Lou worked as a receptionist for Dr. Meyer’s dental office and then in the billing department at Lutheran Hospital. In 1999, Lou and Kent moved to Sturgeon Bay. They were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed going on missions, spending 18 months in Nigeria and regularly serving at the Chicago Temple over the course of 15 years. On August 25, 2013, Kent preceded her in death after 66 years of marriage. Lou was an active member of P.E.O. for 70 years. She enjoyed singing with the chorus, reading, and volunteering.
