Kim Marie (Hartel) Hirthe, 61, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Bellin Memorial Hospital in Green Bay.
She was born December 29, 1959 in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, daughter of Roger Dale and Marvel Essie (Weber) Hartel. Kim grew up in a military family and lived up to the “military brat” reference. She graduated from Southern Door High School with the Class of 1977 before attending beauty school in Green Bay. On October 27, 1984, Kim and Daniel Dean Hirthe were united in marriage at Hope Church in Sturgeon Bay. She devoted her life to being a loving wife, a caring mom, and later, the best grandma. Kim enjoyed fishing trips to Shawano with Dan, watching the Packer games, horseback riding, animals, and gambling. She was especially fond of her garden and flowers, reading, and spending time with her family.
Kim will be missed by her husband of 36 years, Dan; daughters [and grandchildren], Dana (Sam) Vandertie [Bianca, Danni, and Sam II], Autumn (Richard) Cihlar [Sophia and Madden], and Zoe Hirthe (special friend, Caleb Fields); granddaughter, Lorin Hirthe; parents, Roger and Marvel Hartel; brothers, Roger (Lisa) Hartel and John (Kim) Hartel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kim was reunited with her son, Cordarrow “HI” Hirthe, who passed away on November 27, 2019.
Her life will be honored during a private celebration of life.
