John P. Zawadzki, 59 years, of Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin and Hoffman Estates, Illinois passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 1, 2023, after a sudden illness at Door County Medical Center Emergency Department.
He was born July 8, 1964 in Oak Park, Illinois, son of the late Walter and Shirley (Choisser) Zawadzki. John graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1982. For most of his professional career, he worked as a service technician until his recent retirement.
On September 26, 1986, he married Laura A. Ricciuti in Chicago, Illinois. They were blessed with two children and enjoyed Door County for the past 40 years, having recently finished building their Door County home.

Always ready with a bad joke to tell, he lived in the moment, enjoying life day by day. As a father and husband, he was protective, loved his family deeply and enjoyed good friends.
Surviving are his wife, Laura; two children, Nicole (Daniel Moore) of San Diego, CA and Daniel of Hoffman Estates, IL; two sisters, Jill (Robbin) White of Savannah, Georgia and Jane Stiles (Greg Allison) of Genoa, IL.

“We are so deeply saddened at our loss of John and the suddenness of it. We were looking forward to retirement together, enjoying our Door County home. We are grateful for the 37 years of marriage and having a supportive father always there loving and defending us. To say we will miss him is an understatement, but there is part of him in all of us who knew and loved him and that gives us comfort.”
Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of John may be shared with his family through his tribute page at www.huehnsfuneralhome.com.
