Joanne C. (Lamers) Geneske, 90, recently of Sturgeon Bay, formerly of Amherst Junction, died Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the Pete and Jelaine Horton Skilled Nursing Center at Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay.
She was born September 15, 1932 in Kimberly, the daughter of the late Emma (Vandenberg) and Richard Lamers. Joanne married Donald Geneske on November 28, 1953. Don passed away in December of 2021, and she has missed him and talked about him, daily; they are together again.
Joanne is survived by her children, Rick (Sue) Geneske, Randy (Sharon) Geneske, Marcia (Bob) Osborne, and David (Cheryl) Geneske; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
In keeping with her wishes, Joanne will be laid to rest beside her husband, Don, in Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King (near Waupaca) with a private committal.
“Joanne and Don were lovingly cared for by the wonderful staff at Pine Crest Village Assisted Living in Sturgeon Bay, the Unity Hospice team and volunteers, the Door County Medical Center (hospital and clinics), the Door County Medical Center Skilled Nursing Facility team. Please know how very grateful they were for your constant presence, kindness, and tender care.”
