James Richard Murphy

     James Richard Murphy, 77, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.

     He was born October 3, 1943 in Chicago, son of the late Thomas and Adeline Murphy. He graduated from Oak Lawn High School with the Class of 1962 before continuing his education at Bemiji State University. He graduated from BSU with his bachelor’s degree in business/teaching in 1966. Jim began his professional career in Racine at Park High School and the technical college, where he taught business and typing. On July 12, 1969, Jim and Jean Ann Riegelman were united in marriage in Racine. The couple remained in Wisconsin before moving to Arizona in 1972. In Arizona, Jim worked for various companies as a business manager. In 2001, Jim and Jean retired and moved to Door County. He loved artwork and traveling.

     Jim is survived by his wife, Jean; sisters, Carol and Nancy; cousin, Marilyn; nieces, nephews, and many close friends.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tom Jr.; and sister, Barbara.

     In honor of Jim’s wishes no services will be held at this time.
