James Vincent Calabresa concluded his exciting life at home in Baileys Harbor, WI on January 4, 2025. He was 93 years young.
Born in Redgranite, WI June 10, 1931 to Philomena and Thomas Calabresa, the family moved to Milwaukee where Jim graduated from Lincoln High School. After UW Madison, Jim was commissioned into the Army’s Chemical Core and discharged First Lieutenant. He went back to Madison to complete a master’s degree.
Quickly moving from working in the laboratory to selling a variety of biomedical supplies and equipment, Jim rose to sales management in several companies, retiring from Sigma Aldrich. He was fortunate to consult for three companies, working until he was 81 years old.
Jim loved the game of golf and was an avid hunter and fisherman, passionately taking up turkey hunting later in life. He had nearly a photographic memory and a great sense of humor, loving to tell jokes and stories from a huge repertoire.
Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy (nee Prindle); daughters, Cathy O’Brien (Michael) and Elizabeth Korger (John); his former wife, Joan Hansen; granddaughter, Julia Ticianeli (Fellipe); grandsons, Nick (Allison), Alex, Sam, Jon, and Jack (Sarah) [and their children, Claire and Henry]; many nieces and nephews; many dear friends.
A service honoring Jim’s life will take place at 12:00 noon on January 17, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Baileys Harbor with Pastor Gary Scharrig officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at noon.
