Howard Lee Hamilton

Howard Lee Hamilton, Sr., 83, of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, passed away on March 14, 2025, at Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay, WI.

He was born November 30, 1941, in West Virginia, the son of John and Mary (Swim) Hamilton.

Howard met Anna Mae Maruszak in Chicago. They were married on June 28, 1964, and lived there before moving to Sturgeon Bay.  Anna Mae passed away on June 23, 1982. Howard then moved to West Palm Beach, FL before retiring back to Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.

Howard worked for Bay Ship in Sturgeon Bay and at West Palm Beach Recycling Center in Florida.

Howard will be missed by his children, John (Ann) Hamilton, of Sturgeon Bay, Cynthia Ramirez, of Green Bay, Howard Hamilton Jr, of Brussels, Leanne Cruz, of Sturgeon Bay, Bernice Lundquist, of Luxemburg, Deborah Gerdeen, of Sturgeon Bay; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Eileen, Goldie, Dolly, Ellen, Gracie, and Barbara. Howard’s last surviving brother, John, passed on March 18, 2025.

Howard will be laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Sturgeon Bay on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11:00am.
