Obituary
Hannelore “Lore” Johanna Konkle, age 81 of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born on December 28, 1941, in the small mountain city of Hallein, Austria. She immigrated to the United States and lived in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Maryland, before moving to Sturgeon Bay, due to declining health just 4 years ago.
Lore is survived by: her daughters, Sylvia (Mike) Davis-Ashley and Claudia (Tom) Zoumaras; grandchildren, Stephanie (Vanessa Kentfield) Zoumaras, Anna (Austin) Beller, Michael Davis, Nicholas Davis, and Celeste Ashley.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Johanne and Gretel Angera, and her husband, Christopher Konkle.
In their younger years, Lore and Chris loved to sail when they could. In that spirit, a private memorial on the water, with scattering of ashes is planned for a later date.
Lore’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all the caregivers and staff at Anna’s Health Care (both past and present) who took such amazing care of her. They are truly “Anna’s Angels”. Also, many thanks to Dr. Binard and the nurses at Door County Medical Center who helped make her final days comfortable and peaceful.
