Gail Annette Blasier, 89, of Sturgeon Bay, was called Home to be with the Lord, Saturday morning, March 30, 2024 while at Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay.
She was born at home in Little Sturgeon Bay on October 17, 1934, the daughter of Clarence and Irene (Corbisier) Gustafson. Gail grew up attending Salem Ev. Lutheran Church in the Town of Nasewaupee. She graduated from Southern Door High School.
Gail was united in marriage to Roger John Blasier on May 2, 1953 at Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church (Roger's home church) and remained a member there throughout her life.
She initially devoted her time to raising her children at home. Gail eventually went to work as a pharmacy tech at Bohn's Drug Store downtown Sturgeon Bay.
She liked traveling - going for road trips out west and around the state. Gail enjoyed camping with Roger when their children were younger. She was an avid reader. Gail's family would drive her to Wal-Mart in Sturgeon Bay, and she would usually leave the store happily with eight books, and then the following week, would leave with six books. She loved watching the birds in her backyard, especially the hummingbirds and cardinals. Gail's faith provided a foundation for her life and that of her family's.
Her love will live on in the hearts of her husband, Roger, with whom she was blessed to share nearly 71 years of marriage with; son and daughter, Steven (Clessie) Blasier of Sturgeon Bay and Kerrie (Greg) Wheeler of Elroy; granddaughter, Jayne (Shawn) McCambridge; great-grandchildren, Arianna and William McCambridge; siblings-in-law, Robert (LouAnn) Blasier, Dale (Kathy) Blasier, both of Sturgeon Bay, and Jayne Wilke; other relatives; and friends.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott Blasier; five siblings, Vernon (Phyllis) Gustafson, Norman (Marge) Gustafson, Marie (Daniel) Kiedrowski, Allan Gustafson, and Janet (William) Claflin; and other relatives.
Gail's life will be honored with a funeral service held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Huehns Funeral Home, 1414 Michigan Street, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235, with Rev. Dr. Matthew R. Knapp, Sr. officiating. She will be laid to rest in Bayside Cemetery in the Town of Sevastopol, beside her son, Scott.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
