Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Peterson, age 72, of the Town of Gibraltar, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born on May 2, 1953, to the late Germaine (Holub) and Benjamin Blaha in Algoma. She was a proud 1971 graduate of Algoma High School. Betty began her career in hospitality services at area tourist accommodations before expanding into her own private cleaning service. Her commitment to excellence and helping others later led her to work alongside artist Kathy Glasnap in Fish Creek, assisting with framing and matting artwork, and eventually bringing her warm presence to Christine's and Cheese Masters in Egg Harbor. Betty courageously retired due to declining health after battling breast cancer with remarkable strength since 2003.
On October 16, 1981, Betty was united in marriage to Gerald "Jerry" Peterson in Sturgeon Bay. Together, they were blessed with three beloved children: Matthew, Nicholas, and Jill.
Betty's caring spirit shone through her passions for gardening, cooking, and baking. She found joy tending to her flower beds and harvesting vegetables from her garden, always ensuring that everyone who gathered at her table left with full hearts and satisfied appetites. As an active member of Stella Maris Parish of Egg Harbor, Betty found great fulfillment in her faith community. She generously volunteered her time at St. Vincent de Paul, but above all, she treasured her role as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
The Peterson family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Green Bay Oncology and Unity Hospice for their exceptional care. Special thanks to Sylvia from Stella Maris Parishes for bringing Betty communion and sharing faith and friendship during her final journey.
Betty is lovingly survived by her devoted husband Jerry; her children, Matthew (significant other, Shei Arambulo), Nicholas (Aneta) Peterson, and Jill (Dan) Bosman; her cherished grandchildren, Noelle Patza, Emma Peterson, Mason Bosman, and Hailey Bosman; and her siblings, Steven (Nancy) Blaha, Joan (Ronald) Olson, and Timothy (significant other, Kimberly Brewer) Blaha. She is also survived by many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Stella Maris Parish - Egg Harbor Site with Fr. Thomas Farrell officiating.
