Edward Bohling Obituary

     Edward Jon Bohling, 71, of the Town of Nasewaupee, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 16, 2024 at Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay with family at his side.

     He was born June 14, 1952 in Madison, the son of John Seville Bohling and Mary Agnes (Semor) Bohling. Ed grew up attending Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church and School in Sun Prairie. He graduated from Sun Prairie High School with the class of 1970.

     Ed started working for Bohling and Sons Plumbing and Heating in Sun Prairie with his father in high school and continued after graduation.

     He served his country with the United States Army where he was honorably discharged.

     He first met Sheila Ann Koepp at a roller rink in Madison while in high school. They moved to Sturgeon Bay and were married on June 4, 1977 at Bay View Lutheran Church.

     Ed was employed as a plumber and also worked in maintenance for Bay Shipbuilding Co. in Sturgeon Bay. He enrolled in computer courses through Northeastern Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay where he earned his associate degree.

     Ed played softball at Jaycee Field in league after moving to Sturgeon Bay. Ed enjoyed fishing (all over) and golfing (primarily at Lost Creek/now Idlewild Golf Club). He was an avid card player of sheepshead and Euchre and also poker.

     Ed will be missed by his wife; sons, Jereme (Staci) Bohling and Skyler Bohling; grandchildren, Kassidy, Kolby, and Klayton Bohling, and Jaxx, Khloe, Niko, and Zita Bohling; siblings, Mike (Judy) Bohling, Joe Bohling, and Suzie Stawicki; siblings-in-law, Phyllis (Lee) Syvrud, John (Vaneese) Prescott, Nancy (Richard) McFadden, and Patti Thysse; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Tom (Georgia) Bohling, Jim Bohling, Steve Bohling, and Jean (George) Smith; siblings-in-law, Bruce (Karen) Prescott, Richard Koepp, and Jean (Gary) Crawford; and other relatives.

     No formal services are planned to be held in this immediate time. Ed's life may be honored privately by family at a later date.

     Memorials may be given in Ed's name for Door CANcer, Inc. (PO Box 423, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235).
