Douglas Roatch Obituary

     Douglas James Roatch, 43, of Green Bay, formerly of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Bellin Memorial Hospital.

     He was born November 1, 1977 in Sturgeon Bay, son of Michael James and Rosalie Ann (Martinson) Roatch. Doug attended Sturgeon Bay High School and graduated with his GED from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in 1996. He enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed at Naval Station Pearl Harbor during his three years of service. Upon discharge, he moved back to Sturgeon Bay. On June 12, 2010, Doug and Amara Kertesz were united in marriage. He was currently employed at Nielson Communications in Green Bay, where he has worked for over six years. Doug also currently drove for Uber and loved taking people from place to place in his disco vehicle, adorned with lights he proudly installed himself. He also enjoyed deer hunting, playing cards and chess, all things Star Wars, computers, and was the designated family chef. Above all else, Doug was a family man and lived for spending time with his family.

     Doug will be fondly remembered and missed beyond measure by his loving wife, Amara Kertesz-Roatch; children, Trenton and Tanner Bongle; stepchildren, Tyler Bongle, Coleton Blanke, and Syndey Blanke; father, Mike Roatch; siblings, Lynn Root, Pamela Mielke, Elena (Derek) Remington, Alex Root-Roatch; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Peter Kertesz Sr. and Dawn Kertesz; siblings-in-law, Danica Hanson, Peter (Sarah) Kertesz Jr., Elissa (Justin) Behnke, Irene (Andrew) Bauer, William Kertesz, and Jacqueline Kertesz; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosalie Roatch; paternal and maternal grandparents; nephew, Calvin Bauer; and twin nieces, Danielle and Francheska Root.

     Doug’s life will be honored with a funeral service on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Huehns Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. with Pastors Irene and Andrew Bauer officiating.

     Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m.
