Dean Johnson Obituary

     Dean William Johnson, 60, of Allouez, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024.

     He was born March 19, 1963 in Oak Park, IL, the son of William "Bill" Luther Johnson and Margaret Rita (O'Day) Johnson. Dean grew up in Warrenville, IL and attended St. Irene Catholic Church where he received the Sacraments of Baptism and First Communion. His family moved to St. Germain, WI in 1975 to purchase the Peacock Lodge, which they owned and operated for several years before selling it. Dean was confirmed at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sayner, WI. He graduated from Northland Pines High School in Eagle River with the class of 1982.

     In 1982, Peacock Lodge went up for sale again. Dean and his father bought it, and Dean managed it until 1986.

     He and his parents moved to Carmel, IN, in 1986. Dean was employed with Tom Wood and Beck Toyota in Indianapolis, IN as a salesman.

     In 1992, he moved to Green Bay, WI where he worked at Vans Honda until 2000. At that time, Dean began working with his father building homes and investment properties, which he managed and maintained until his death.

     He was blessed with two children: Joseph (18) and Anna (17).

     Dean will be missed by his son and daughter, Joseph and Anna Johnson, both of Freedom; sister, Debra (Tim) May of Howard; and niece and nephew, Taylor (Sam) Franczek (and their son, William) and Christopher May.

     He was preceded in death by his parents.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be prayed at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 110 N. 5th Avenue, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 with Fr. Matthew Rappl as celebrant. Dean will be laid to rest beside his parents in St. Joseph Cemetery in the Town of Sevastopol.

     Visitation for family and friends will be held at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:40 a.m.
