David W. Gessert

David W. Gessert, age 93 of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on November 24, 2024, at his home.

He was born on June 13, 1931, in Janesville, WI to the late Harold and Nancy “Esther” (Wileman) Gessert. He is a graduate of Janesville High School. David was drafted immediately following graduation and served in the United States Army. After David was discharged, he attended and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.

On June 11, 1970, David was united in marriage to Joan Baker.

David is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan; children Pam, Sharon, and John; and one sister, Joan Rossister.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tom Gessert.

In keeping with David’s wishes there will be no formal services.
