Daniel L. Ripp

     Daniel Lee Ripp, 79, of Sturgeon Bay died unexpectedly at home on May 31, 2024 from natural causes.

     He was born in Sturgeon Bay the son of the late Francis “Fritz” and Janice (O’Connor) Ripp. After graduating from Sturgeon Bay High School in1963, Dan studied at Golden State University. Dan retired as an executive with Univar Companies, a global chemical and ingredient supplier after a career that spanned 40 years. On March 16, 1973 he married Karon J. Uecker at Grace Lutheran Church in Green Bay. She preceded him in death on March 10, 2013.

    After being away from Door County for his working career, Dan was able to move back home in 2007. He loved golf and living near or on a golf course. Dan was an avid skier and sports enthusiast who enjoyed lake living and being back in Door County near his family and friends.

     Surviving family include his children, Melissa (Dan) Kishish of East Bethel, MN, Randy Ripp, and Michael Ackerman of Baton Rouge, LA; three grandchildren, Jennifer Ripp, Amanda Kishish, and Allison Kishish; siblings, Tony (Bonnie) Ripp, David (Deb) Ripp, Mary Lou (James) Norton, Joe Ripp, and Tim Ripp.

     Preceding him in death were his parents, Fritz and Janice Ripp, and wife, Karon.

     A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Huehns Funeral Home. Interment will be made at Bayside Cemetery Columbarium.
