Christopher Link Obituary

Christopher David "C.D." Link, 72, of Brussels, WI, formerly of West Allis, WI, passed away on August 24, 2024 at his home.

He was born on January 10, 1952 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of James Charles Link and Elizabeth Mae (Van Hercke) Link. Chris attended Holy Apostles Catholic Grade School in New Berlin, WI and later graduated from the New Berlin West High School with the class of 1970. He attended the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh.

Chris always had a love for motorcycles and worked as a Parts Manager for several Motorcycle dealers in the greater Milwaukee area. He was an avid hobbyist who enjoyed slot car racing, model trains, as well as guitar restoration.

Chris met Victoria "Vicki" Barroga on a blind date, and they were married on September 10, 1983 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in West Allis. He and Vicki lived together in West Allis until they moved to Brussels in 2019 to fulfill their dream to live in Door County, WI.

Together, they enjoyed their Bucks games, caring for their home and gardens, and welcoming family and friends to stay with them on weekend visits.

Chris was a great tour guide of Door County for friends and family and knew right where to take them to enjoy the sights and the fall colors he and Vicki both so loved. His favorite spot was the winding road on Highway 42 in Gills Rock. Chris loved it so much he bought the souvenir coffee mug and drank from it daily. He also made sure to make a stop at Seaquist Orchards Farm Market in Ellison Bay to grab a pie to share with his visitors.

Chris and Vicki shared over 39 years of marriage. Vicky passed away September 10, 2022. Their friendship and hospitality (that shared with others) will be greatly missed.

Chris will be missed by his brother, Patrick (Molly) Link of LaGrange, GA; sisters-in-law, Jeannie (Tony) Williams of Eureka, CA, Norita (Richard) Hulett of Duvall, WA, and Ken Barroga of Seattle, WA; other relatives; and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Teresa Link; sister-in-law, Mryna (Martin) Schultz; and other relatives.

No public services will be held.
