Charles "Chuck" LaViolette Obituary

Charles “Chuck” Wallace LaViolette, 78, of the Town of Clay Banks, passed away on March 24, 2025 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.

He was born December 14, 1946 in Sturgeon Bay, son of the late Wally and Ronelda Celene (Helmholtz) LaViolette. Chuck graduated from Southern Door High School in 1966 before continuing his education in North Carolina, where he obtained a certificate in crane and heavy equipment operation. He worked in Georgia operating a tunneling machine for two years and then in Washington, D.C. building the metro subway, tunneling for five years before returning to Sturgeon Bay and working at Bay Shipbuilding for over 30 years. On December 10, 1966, Chuck married Dianne Francis Wolfgram at Bay View Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay, where the two have remained lifelong members.

He was passionate about fishing, hunting, bowling league and enjoying time with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Chuck looked forward to the Kewaunee/Door County Salmon Tournament every year and would always have a crew of family and friends on the boat with him. Following the tournament Chuck and the crew would have a fish boil accompanied with many horseshoe tournaments. He also fished perch and walleye with Rick, Dale, Joe, Bill, cousins, Jimmy and Mike, and many others.

Chuck will be missed by his wife of 58 years, Dianne LaViolette; children, Karry LaViolette of Washington, D.C. and Wally LaViolette of Sturgeon Bay; son-in-law, Tim Beilke of Brussels; four grandchildren Elisha (friend, Gary) Franklin, Eric (friend, Jessica) Franklin, Brandon (friend, Kayla) Beilke, and Alex “AJ” (friend, Danielle); great-grandchildren, Amelia and Stephanie (and their father Chris), Sophie, Savannah, Joslyn, and Beau; step great-grandchildren, Blake and Aria; and brother, Harris (Danuta) LaViolette of Payson, AZ.
