“Poor Charlie” Wilson was born September 6, 1930 and passed away on April 16, 2021. Ironically, he was the only child of four shipped up north to work on the angus farm in Wilsonville, Canada and ended up on a piece of heaven farm in Door County. Some people know how to live!
Dad was a marine, drafted during the Korean War and later worked in roofing and construction. A hard worker but he truly enjoyed life. He met Joan at Jitterbug dance class and the two were wed. Charlie loved dancing, fishing, traveling, and going on cruises.
He will be missed by his daughters, Eva and Dawn; cousin, JoAnne; true family, Murphy, Jasper, Ruthie, Fiona, Florence, and all the farm animals.
He was greeted on Friday evening by Joan; grandpa Joe; uncle Dick; and his two sisters, “Peanut” (Aunt Arlene) and Aunt Peaches (Bernice); and Harry-O, Bocephus Budkis, Magnum, Higgins, Dooley, Thurman, Fletcher, and Tobey. One could not ask for a better group of friends.
“We would like to thank the staff at Unity Hospice and Aurora Sturgeon Bay Clinic, especially Dr. Michael Aleksandrowicz and Kelly Dahms-Schartner. Enjoy the freedom, dad. Love you!”
Huehns Funeral Home, Inc. & Door County Crematory LLC of Sturgeon Bay are assisting the Wilson family. Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Charlie may be shared with his family through his tribute page at www.huehnsfuneralhome.com.
