Brian Mancini Obituary

Brian M. Mancini, 63 years, of Sturgeon Bay, formerly of Harmony, IL, passed away suddenly at his home Sunday morning, January 3, 2021, days after a surgical procedure.

He was born April 6, 1957 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Alfred and Josephine (Mucha) Mancini. Following graduation from Romeoville High School, Brian received his BS in Electrical Engineering before enrolling at Kent College of Law, University of Illinois-Chicago. Brian was employed with Motorola for 36 years as an Electrical Engineer then becoming their corporate patent legal counsel. On September 2, 1985, he married Theresa “Terry” Rychlinski in Maui, HI.  Following Brian’s retirement in 2014, they moved to Door County, north of Sturgeon Bay to enjoy a slower more peaceful way of life together.

Brian was a happy, quiet, gentle man with a great “dry” sense of humor who was highly intelligent and loved his wife very much. He was a fan of watching football, Jack Daniels and reading, loved his Camaro, Corvette and high-performance cars, was a talented carpenter, a sci-fi fan, and loved Terry’s cooking.

He will be missed by his wife, Terry of Sturgeon Bay; brother, Alan (Barbara) Mancini of Burr Ridge, IL; two sisters-in-law, Christine (Les) Wozniak of Lombard, IL, Lola Tiefenthal of Carol Stream, IL; nieces and nephews, Marc (Emma) Wozniak, Angie Wozniak, Jessie (Wes) Cook, Eric Tiefenthal; great-niece, Emma Wozniak; many cousins including, Noreen Paeth, Gary Doyle, Mary Ann Pienta, Laurie Mangia, Lisa Mancini, Patsy Prez, Mary Ellen Lucente, Anthony Mucha; and many friends.

A celebration of Brian’s life will be held this spring 2021 in Sturgeon Bay.

In lieu of flowers, memorials be made in his memory to Door County Green Fund (https://doorcountycommunityfoundation.org/donations/ugreenc).
