On Saturday, October 4, 2025, Betty Ann Anderson, 72, of the Town of Nasewaupee, went to rest peacefully in the Lord's arms after colon cancer took over her body but not her faith. She passed away peacefully just as she wanted with her girls at her bedside.
Betty was born at home in the Town of Lincoln on February 21, 1953 to Clayton Michael Ferron, Sr. and Rose (Swoboda) Ferron. She grew up attending Maplewood Grade School and Brussels Junior High and Southern Door High School.
As a teenager, Betty met the love of her life, Roger George Anderson. They were united in marriage on June 19, 1971 at St. Mary's Catholic Church (now Holy Name of Catholic Church) in Maplewood where they remained members. Betty and Roger raised four strong daughters and later were blessed with the three sons they never had.
Betty's faith and her family were most important to her, always putting others first, making sure to put a smile on everyone's faces around her. You may have seen Betty and her sisters parading through local businesses, visiting family members dressed as sharks, chickens, Santa and his elves, and even the Easter Bunny. She had an exceptional talent at crafts that fill her daughters' homes. Betty loved to cook for her family; her food was love. Her family get-togethers were always so special to her. In true Betty fashion, they were filled with fun, laughter, and the most wacky, memorable, and interactive games.
Her compassion and natural talent as a caregiver led her to a career of 39 years as a CNA. Betty was initially employed with Door County Memorial Hospital in Sturgeon Bay for 8 years before going to work for the Dorchester Nursing Home in Sturgeon Bay for 31 years.
She and Roger were blessed to share 52 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2023.
Betty will be forever missed by her girls, Jean (Chris) Chase, Jenny Anderson, both of the Town of Nasewaupee, Jane (Edward) Hensley of Sturgeon Bay, and Joni (John) Nessinger of Forestville; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Diane (Bob) Schmidt of Door County, Agnes (Lee) Nelson of Forestville, Rosie Jandrin of the Town of Claybanks, and Julie (Marvin Challis) Charles of Luxemburg; siblings-in-law, Joyce Anderson of Green Bay (her sister by choice), Richard (Cindy) Anderson of Euren, Ralph (Nancy) Anderson of Algoma, and Lynn Anderson of Casco; other relatives; and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents; husband; brother, Clayton Ferron, Jr.; parents-in-law, Gustave and Emily (nee Goll) Anderson; siblings in-law, Andrew Jandrin, Randy Anderson, Ron Anderson, and Gayle LeMere; nieces; her grandson's fiancée, Brianna Magle; as well as other relatives; and close friends.
Betty's life will be honored with a Mass of Christian Burial prayed at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Maplewood, 7491 County Road H, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 with Fr. William Brunner as celebrant. She will be laid to rest in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum at Nicolet Memorial Gardens in the Town of Scott, beside her husband, Roger.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Huehns Funeral Home, 1414 Michigan Street, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 with a parish wake service to be prayed at 6:30 p.m. There will be no public visitation at the church on Thursday. Those anticipating attending the funeral Mass on Thursday are welcome to gather at church at 10:40 a.m. to await the arrival of the Anderson family, who will be processing into church.
"A very special thank you goes out to all her Unity angels, especially Kristen, who was such a support to Mom and us girls, Dr. Paul Maes, and Dr. Jaslowski and the entire Door County Cancer Center staff."
