Bette Jean Giver

     Bette Jean Giver, 86, of Sturgeon Bay, WI, passed away Friday morning, July 19, 2019 at Sturgeon Bay Health Services.

     She was born January 18, 1933 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Alfred and Helen (Einman) Schultz. Bette attended Wells School in Chicago. She was united in marriage to George Robert Giver on June 10, 1996 in Chicago. They moved to Door County, WI soon after that and resided in Sturgeon Bay.

     Bette initially worked as a coat checker for a restaurant in Chicago, IL. Later on, she worked at Family Dollar in Sturgeon Bay. Bette devoted most of her time, though, to taking care of her family at home.

     She loved going shopping, often for hours at a time. Bette also enjoyed reading horror stories and watching horror films as well as old westerns.

     She will be missed by her husband, George, with whom she shared over 23 years of marriage; four children, Stacy (Carl) Beckstrom of Sturgeon Bay, Debra (John) Trzos of West Minster, CO, Ray (Stacie) Zelnik of Sturgeon Bay, and Crystal (George) Malvitz of Sturgeon Bay; eight grandchildren, Jasmine (Dessi) Koss and Cyndi Beckstrom, Kim (Dwayne) Trzos, Rhiannon (Paul) Chavez,  and Sarah (Tyson) Call, Mike Zelnik, Katie Zelnik, and Jordan Zelnik; four great-grandchildren, Noah and Jayden Kadunc, and Michael Trzos and Mason Martin; and other relatives.

     Bette was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Michelle Zelnik; and sister, Alice (Alexander Jr.) Alsteen; and other relatives.

     Her life will be celebrated from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Butch's Bar, 112 S. 3rd Avenue, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated.
