Bernard Schroeder Obituary

Bernard Francis Schroeder, 76, of Egg Harbor, Wisconsin, passed away on December 21, 2024 at his home with family by his side.

Ben was born in Idaho Falls, ID, to the late Leo and Lillias Schroeder in December 1948.

He graduated in 1967 from Lincoln High School in Stockton, CA. During high school, he competed in swimming and wrestling. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in the Mediterranean and Norfolk, VA. During his enlistment, he was promoted to third class Petty officer, and Ben received an honorable discharge in 1971.

On October 6, 1995, he married Barbara Jacoby. Ben and Barb lived in Kenosha, WI for 26 years before retiring in Egg Harbor, WI.

Ben worked at Abbott Laboratories in IT for 29 years, with the last few years as an IT Project Manager. In his spare time, he was also an exceptional woodworker, crafting many gorgeous pieces of furniture for family and friends. He also loved riding his motorcycle, making home improvements, and was the master of all trades.

Ben is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Egg Harbor; his daughter, Theresa (John) Parham of Appleton, WI; his son, Thomas (Britta) Schroeder of Harrisburg, PA, and his son, Christopher Schroeder of Kenosha, WI; and his grandchildren, Quintin, Alyssa, Lexi, Amber, Autumn, Ella, Sophie, and Penny, as well as his siblings Jay, Anna Marie, and Sally.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Lillias Schroeder.

Ben's life will be honored with a Celebration of Life at the Kemper Center, Ambrose Hall, 6501 3rd Ave, Kenosha, on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
