Angeline Gauger Obituary

Angeline “Angie” C. Gauger, 97 of Sturgeon Bay, was called home on October 1, 2024, at Bayview Senior Care in Sturgeon Bay.

Angie was born June 19, 1927, on Washington Island, WI to the late Bjorn and Clara Gunnlaugsson. On June 21, 1947, she married Reginald Gauger of Fish Creek. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1995.

Angie worked for Emerson Electric for 21 years. She was a member of the Sturgeon Bay Business Women, Bay View Lutheran Church and the VFW Post 3088 Auxiliary.

After her retirement, she kept herself busy with her many hobbies. She spent many hours doing the genealogy of her Gunnlaugsson family and that of the Gaugers. She was proud of the fact that she was able to trace nine generations on both sides. Angie was an avid reader, did a lot of knitting, sewing, crocheting, quilting and playing cards with her friends. Her great love was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She would often comment, “They are what keeps me young.”

She is survived by her three children, Reggie (Barb) of Sheboygan, Shari Manson  and Sally (Jerry) Borkovetz of Sturgeon Bay; Grandchildren, David Gauger of Madison, Carla (Seth Wilson) Gauger of Stoughton, Ryan Beyer of Sturgeon Bay, Heather (Shannon) Sikorsky of Forestville, Justin (Lyndsay) Borkovetz of Sturgeon Bay,  Kristi (Jesse) Kluge of Sturgeon Bay, Jamie (Richard) Soukup of Sturgeon Bay, Marisa Schumacher of Green Bay, and Shane (Kristie) Manson of Suamico; Great-grandchildren, Logan and Lance Beyer, Claire and Grace Schumacher, Kyle (fiancé, Hanna) and Hailey Manson, Terah and Britni Soukup, Collin and Eelyn Borkovetz, Addison, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Dylan Kluge, Kylie Sikorsky; Brothers, Nathan (Karen) Gunnlaugsson of Plymouth, Orin Gunnlaugsson, of Sturgeon Bay; Sister, Rosalie Gunnlaugsson of Arizona; Sister-in-law, Esther Gauger, Godchildren, Lisa Hartl and Ronald Sawyer, plus many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her Parents; Son-in-law, James Manson; Brothers and sisters-in-law, Peter, Clayton, Danny (Nancy), Calvin (Lucille), Everett (Charlotte), Kenneth (June), Stewart (Shirley), Murray (Marlene); Sisters and brothers-in-law, Blanche (Arnold) Jacobson, Pauline (Rubin) McFarlin, Lorraine (Wilbert) Kinate, Arline (Floyd) Koyen; Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harvey (Lois) Gauger, Dorothy (Norbert) Sawyer, Chet Gauger, Betty (Norbert) Stanecki, Orville (Eunice) Gauger, and Emily (Alfred) Spittlemeister.
