Andrew Michael Killenberg

Andrew Michael Killenberg, who lived life to the fullest, died June 2, 2026 at the age of 53.

He fought to conquer the cancer that attacked him, showing amazing resolve and courage. He is now in his heavenly home, sending his blessings to his wife, Jessica, their children, Olivia, 17, and Graham, 16. Andrew passed with Graham and Jessica holding his hand. She never left his side throughout the last days of his life at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay and later at Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay. The support of family and friends brings comfort to Jessica, his children, parents, siblings, and their spouses.

Andrew's earthly travels started with his birth on September 1, 1972 in Carbondale, IL, and brought him to East Alton, IL, and St. Pete Beach, FL, where he met Jessica through his and her parents, who were already good friends. Andrew and Jessica married on March 6, 2004, in St. Petersburg, FL. They settled first in Little Switzerland, NC and finally in Jacksonport, in Door County, WI, where both their children were born.

His sister, Kristen, had a vision the night of his death that Andrew was in a marvelous kitchen in heaven, cooking for Jesus with love and joy for a large gathering that included his grandparents, with music and laughter all around. Bob Marley was there, hanging out with one of his biggest fans. Her vision underscores how Andrew and Jessica put their trust in Jesus and gave thanks for whatever graces He bestowed.

Andrew made magic in his kitchen and his studio, and released a final album, "Eleven 11," last year under the name ///AMK. It showcases his musical talent, singing, composition, and lyrics. He wrote and produced every note and word, focusing on his love for Jessica.

In ways both mundane and magnificent, he tried to make the lives of others better. Nothing deterred him from getting things done - from unraveling a wi-fi puzzle for a neighbor, repairing about anything in sight, and building his own home, on land he and Jessica chose to put down roots.

He often told Jessica, "We don't cut corners." That rings true of his approach to coaching soccer for the Mighty Pioneers and SAY youth soccer teams. He studied video and instructional books to refine his knowledge about the sport so that his players would succeed. He took great pride in his "kids," no matter whether they won or lost, but they most often won.

Andrew made friends easily and charmed them with his sense of humor and his engaging storytelling. He was loyal to those he bonded with and generous to his family no matter what they needed. With uncommon empathy, he listened to and guided his many friends through their personal trials.

He will be deeply missed by Jessica; his children, Olivia and Graham; parents, George "Michael" and Alice Penelope "Penny" (nee Theis) Killenberg of Jacksonport; sisters, Kristen (Jason) Albertson of Sturgeon Bay, and Anne (Russ) Schoen of Evanston, IL, brother, Mark (Cayla) Killenberg of Sturgeon Bay; and his niece and nephews, who adored him.

Andrew's life will be celebrated with a gathering of family and friends at 11 a.m. on the 11th of June 2026 (Thursday) and will continue until 1 p.m. at Huehns Funeral Home, 1414 Michigan Street, Sturgeon Bay, WI. A private memorial service for family will be held at Lawrence University's Björklunden in the Town of Baileys Harbor, a place that was special to Andrew and his family.
