Amanda Honold Obituary

     Amanda Anna Honold, 98, formerly of the Town of Jacksonport, was called Home to be with the Lord, Monday afternoon, November 26, 2018 at Door County Medical Center Skilled Nursing Facility in Sturgeon Bay where she had been living.

     She was born at home in Jacksonport on February 29, 1920, the daughter of Alvin W. and Emelia Caroline (Fischer) Dietrich. Amanda attended Fairview Grade School in West Jacksonport then Sunny Point School in the Town of Egg Harbor before attending Sturgeon Bay High School. She was united in marriage to William Casper Honold on his birthday, May 6, 1939, at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in West Jacksonport where she remained a lifelong member. Amanda initially worked as a housekeeper and then raised her family and took care of the home. She and William were blessed with over 58 years of marriage when he passed away on Christmas in 1997.

     Amanda had a strong faith and was active in stewardship and the Altar Guild at church. She was a former parade marshal for Maifest in Jacksonport. Amanda enjoyed crocheting and sewing and was also an avid card player. All of her family remembers what a wonderful cook she was and how delicious her bread was. If you came to visit, Amanda made sure you were fed. She loved her Lord, her family, and kids.

     Amanda will be missed by her four sons and one daughter, Orville Honold of Jacksonport, Dorothy Trinkner of Sturgeon Bay, Ken (friend, Cheryl Simon) Honold of Jacksonport, Mitch (Dawn) Honold of Baileys Harbor, and Steven (Mary) Honold of Brussels; sixteen grandchildren, Phil (Marci) Faustini, Brian Faustini, Suzanne (Shawn) Carmody, Christopher Faustini and Michelle Honold, Patrick (Rose) Trinkner, Kim Trinkner, Joseph (Julie) Trinkner, and Kerry (Dale) Merkle, Reneé (Brian) Stein and Heidi (significant other, Charles Tlachac) Honold, Jennifer (Michael) Neitzke, Angela (Scott) Bies, and Brandon (Casey) Honold, Cheryl (fiancé, David DeMeuse) Heikkila and Lisa (friend, Ted Karnitz) Wilke; thirty-one great-grandchildren, Stephan Faustini, Jamie Faustini, Kelly Carmody, Connor Carmody, Megan Faustini, Sophia Faustini, and Ethan Faustini, Matthew Carson, Josh Bordeau, Matt Bordeau, Amanda Merkle, and Will Merkle, Steven Wesolowski, Adam Wesolowski, Luke Wesolowski, Brynn Erickson, and Kayleigh Erickson, Anthony Neitzke, Georgia Neitzke, Sullivan Bies, Max Bies, Ian Bies, Mason Voight, Nora Honold, Toby Honold, and Alvina Honold, John E. Heikkila, Josh Heikkila, Jake Heikkila, Rick Lyons and Ashley (significant other, Mike Bagneski) Lyons; six great-great-grandchildren, Emmalyn Carmody (and one on the way), Ashlee Maccoux, and Caleb Milward, and Jennifer Bagneski and Daniel Bagneski; sister, Eunice Rex of Baileys Harbor; sister-in-law, Dawn Dietrich of Sturgeon Bay; other relatives; and friends.

     Amanda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-law and three daughters-in-law, Richard Trinkner, Dorothy Honold, Mary D. Honold, and Margaret Honold; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Wesolowski and Miranda Heikkila; two sisters and four brothers, Selma (Lawrence) Fox, Earl (Mary Ann) Dietrich, Orville Dietrich, Roland (Carol) Dietrich, Irene (Russell) Ostrand, and Rueben Dietrich; and other relatives.

     A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in West Jacksonport with Pastor Peter Lindemann officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Jacksonport, beside her husband, William.

     Visitation for family and friends will be held at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a devotion to be held at 7:45 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church, Saturday morning, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m.

     Memorials may be given in Amanda’s memory for Zion Lutheran Church and Zion Lutheran School.
