On the morning of March 25, 2024 we lost a “Fantastic” man, Alvin Eichler.
Al was born on January 28, 1931 in Milwaukee to the late Michael and Emma (Runge) Eichler.
He was married for 66 years to his wife, Sherrill (Petersen) Eichler; dad to Lori (Howard) Leppen, Lunette Eichler, Allan Eichler (deceased) and Becky (Patrick) Clayton; grandfather to Nicole, and Everett; great-grandfather to Logan; and brother to Beulah Star.
Al graduated with a metallurgical engineering degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1954. He was a member and officer in American Society for Metals, JCs, Kangaroo Lake Association (member and board member), and was a Ridges Sanctuary volunteer—voted as Volunteer of the Year in 2005.
A celebration of life gathering for Al’s family and friends will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Ridges Sanctuary (Albert Fuller Center) 8166 WI-57, Baileys Harbor. Light lunch and cake will be provided.
