My sympathy to the entire family. Cindy and Julie, I still remember you both busy and happily serving perch on Friday nights at the old Carlsville bar. Also your dad busy behind the bar. It was a tradition for many locals, and you could tell your dad was a happy owner.

I wish both of you, and your mom, my best. The loss is hard to take now, but will eventually heal. May God be with you.

Sara and family. I wish I could have gotten to know you better, Bill and I are first cousins. I was only 2 days older than he and we spent a lot of time playing together until I left Sturgeon Bay in 1957. He came to the funeral for my mother Leona in 2010 and my father Clayton in 2013 and I really appreciated that. God Bless. Darrel

We were members at Harbour Village when Bill was there and it was never the same after he left. He even invited us over to the house on occasion so he could share his wealth of knowledge. Bill was a great and giving man. May God bless you in your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

My thoughts and prayers for the Anschutz family. Just saw Bill and Sarah at Valmy a short time ago. When he worked at Alpine, he always had a smile and sometimes a joke to share with us ladies.

Bill always had a smile for me. Along with Sarah, he was a great help with all the Stella Maris fundraisers that we worked on. I knew that I could always count on him in a pinch. Looking back, I realize that I have known him for 25 years. Where did that time go! My husband said that when they were in the Lions together, he was always the one to volunteer first when you needed him. He will be missed. So sad for Sarah and the girls. He had a good life.

I love you girl and please call me if you ever need to talk - I have been there, I'm still there. The loss of my daddy - even tho almost 3 years have past - has me still in tears almost daily. Hugs. Sarah and girls,

I was saddened to hear the news of Bill's passing. He will ever be know as Uncle Bill to me. He was probably the second most important man to me as I was growing up and one that I will never forget. His stories are still told at our deer camp.

I am currently in California and will not be able to make it home for the funeral but know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I met Bill and Sarah many years ago when my son Jamey was stationed in Sturgeon Bay while in the Navy. Jamey met their youngest daughter Elaine and they fell in love. Jamey and Elaine married and Bill and Sarah welcomed Jamey into the family as one of their own. Bill and Sarah are the kind of people that you felt like you had know all your life the first time you met them. Bill was a great man, a big jokester, and a great husband and father. He will be truly missed by his family and friends but his memory will live on in their hearts. I am honored to have known Bill and I will continue to pray for the family during this time of loss.

What a great person! I worked with Bill as a 1st responder and also on the County Board. He was one of the most "real people" I have ever met. His interest was always the common good. His decisions were never in his best interest but rather, in the best interest of those he served. I don't know his family, but suspect that this opinion is shared by those who love him.
God be with you,
Dick Burress
