Theresa Ann Reince, 86, of Sturgeon Bay, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Sturgeon Bay Health Services.
She was born June 11, 1932 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of Sylvan Joseph Baudhuin and Marie (Carmody) Baudhuin. Theresa grew up attending St. Joseph Catholic Church and School and graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Norman “Pal” Lee Reince on June 14, 1958 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, and they were blessed with nearly 55 years of marriage. Theresa and Norman lived in Maplewood for many years until moving back to Sturgeon Bay in 2000. They attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church (now Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church) in Maplewood and then St. Joseph Catholic Church upon their return to Sturgeon Bay. Norman passed away June 3, 2013.
Theresa was employed with Milwaukee Shoe Factory (later Santa Rosa Shoe Co.) in Sturgeon Bay. She worked in the office at Lost Acre Realty and then as a payroll clerk for Southern Door Schools.
Theresa was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and served as State Regent. She was active in Parents Involved in Education (PIE) while her children were in school. She and Norman supported their children (as well as other students) in all of their academic, athletic, and extracurricular activities. Theresa taught 4-H classes in Maplewood. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed knitting. Theresa’s baked beans, fresh baked bread, and apple pie were family favorites. She was also an avid reader. Theresa was a devoted Green Bay Packer fan. She was proud of her Belgian and Irish heritage.
Theresa is survived by her two sons and one daughter: Kevin (Marty) Reince of Edina, MN, Lisa (Rick) Carlson of Maplewood, MN, and Todd Reince of Sturgeon Bay; sister and brother, Sr. Ruth Baudhuin and William (Marion) Baudhuin, both of Sturgeon Bay; three siblings-in-law, Dorothy Melchior, Laverne Eggert, and Robert Reince; many other dear relatives; and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Sylvan (Francese) Baudhuin, Jr. and Fr. Robert Baudhuin; and five siblings-in-law, Owen (Loretta) Reince, Veronica (Harry) Russell, Robert Melchior, Milton “Mick” Eggert, and Fran Reince.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 6, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay with Fr. Robert Stegmann as celebrant. Theresa will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery, beside her husband, Norman.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay on Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be led by the Catholic Daughters at 2:40 p.m. and a parish wake service to be held at 6:45 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m.
Memorials may be given in Theresa’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
