Ruthann Dachelet Obituary

Ruthann Dachelet, 56, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 25, 2018.

She was born June 1, 1961 in Algoma, the daughter of Marvin Joseph Dachelet and Shirley Mae (Maedke) Dachelet. Ruthann grew up attending St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Algoma where she was confirmed. At Algoma High School, she enjoyed playing basketball and singing in various vocal ensembles. Ruthann graduated with the class of 1979.

She was primarily employed in customer service at various places over the years – Doerr Electric (later Emerson motors) in Sturgeon Bay, Horeshoe Bay Restaurant Egg Harbor where she was a kitchen steward, Subway and Econo Foods in Sturgeon Bay, and most recently at Stone’s Throw Winery in Peninsula Center in the Town of Baileys Harbor, just to name a few.

From the 1990s until the early 2000s, Ruthann coordinated the Sunday School classes at Tanum-Forest Ev. Lutheran Church in Vignes in the Town of Clay Banks. Those who knew her, can attest to what an outgoing and social person she was. Ruthann was definitely a free spirit. She had a passion for singing that spanned her entire life. Ruthann also enjoyed playing cards – cribbage and sheepshead. She loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.

Ruthann will be deeply missed by her son and daughter, Richard (Autumn) Cihlar of Sturgeon Bay [and their children, Sophia and Madden] and Krisann Cihlar of Algoma [and her children, Arya and Corvin]; six siblings, Margo Rouse, Marcy (Tom) Swoboda, Lee (Linda), Larry (Dawn), Randall (Roxie), and Shireen (special friend, Joe Schmidt) Dachelet, all of Algoma; 13 nieces and nephews; 22 great-nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and special friends, Randall Cihlar (her former husband and children’s father), and Shadow Phillips.

A devotion will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay with Pastor Joel McKenney, of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Algoma, officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with Ruthann's family at Huehns Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the devotion.
